Our client is seeking a Remote Refrigeration Engineer to lead complex supermarket and grocery projects from initial concept through construction. In this role, you will collaborate closely with architects and project managers to deliver high-level technical solutions for major retail clients. Candidates must hold an EIT certification, be proficient in Revit, and possess specific expertise in the design and implementation of CO2 refrigeration systems.

responsibilities:
- Lead small client teams and projects, guiding internal staff and clients through all phases of project delivery.
- Design DX and transcritical CO? refrigeration systems for supermarket and grocery environments, including isometric layouts, equipment selection, controls integration, and energy calculations.
- Apply national standards (IMC, IPC, ASHRAE) and energy codes to refrigeration design with minimal oversight.
- Produce and coordinate construction documents in Revit, collaborating with architects and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Edit specifications, support construction administration, respond to RFIs, and review submittals as required.
- Perform QC reviews on your own work and others' work prior to the Engineer of Record's final review.
- Maintain direct client contact, manage project budgets, and support financial performance tracking.
- Train and mentor junior staff on company standards, drafting techniques, and technical design questions.
- Utilize industry tools: Heatcraft Box Load Calculator, Sporlan Virtual Engineer, AutoCAD, and Revit.
- BSME degree with 4-7 years of commercial refrigeration design experience.
- strong understanding of retail or grocery design programs, building codes, and A/E documentation standards.
- Working knowledge of DX refrigeration systems (traditional refrigerants) and familiarity with transcritical CO? systems
- Must be proficient in Revit.
- EIT certification required (PE license preferred).
- Ability to work independently across multiple project types with minimal supervision and strong communication skills for client interaction.
