Manufacturing Engineer needed for immediate 6 month contract role in the Augusta, GA area! This is a high priority role seeking a seasoned ME that knows assembly with the ability to write work instructions and support production start-up. This role offers a high potential for permanent hire conversion.
The right fit for this role will have a BS in Engineering along with 5+ years of related experience in Manufacturing, supply chain and/or logistics. This person will have in-depth knowledge of APQP tools, including process flows, process FMEAs, and control plans, to meet Quality and Reliability requirements. Knowledge of CAN based systems is highly desirable.
This role is needed to join an exsisting team of Advanced Manufacturing Engineers in designing technical requirements and
identifying appropriate manufacturing processes, influence alternative designs from a manufacturing capability perspective utilizing DFMA (design for manufacturing/assembly), process quality planning (PFMEA, control plans, SPC, etc.) and lean design and manufacturing principles for all new purchased parts.

responsibilities:
- Collaborate with new product design teams to accommodate design for manufacturing and serviceability as well as implementation of Product Development Plan requirements.
- Collaborate with the integrated supply chain team to optimize production layout and material flow and presentation.
- Create new process instructions and standards and ensure training materials are available to train users in all required tools, measurements and procedures.
- Oversee execution and completion of all AME deliverables in accordance with project timelines in an independent manner
- BS in Engineering along with 6+ years of related experience in Manufacturing, supply chain and/or logistics
- Working knowledge of material flow and manufacturing systems.
- Experience in engineering systems including CAD, PLM and MES systems. CREO and Windchill
- PLM experience and knowledge preferred.
- Knowledge of CAN based systems and/or programming preferred.
- Experience in modular system design, with focus on reusability, delayed differentiation (postponement) and mass customization.
- Experience with lean principles and techniques to include Mistake Proofing, Visual Management,
- Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Cycle Time Reduction and Process Balancing, Yokoten, 5S, Set
- Up Reduction (SMED), and Kanban.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills as well as project and time management across multiple teams
