We are seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator with at least 5 years of industrial construction experience to lead on-site safety for a complex process and chemical building project for our client, a global employee-owned engineering and construction firm that has been operating for over 75 years. responsibilities:
- Conduct daily safety audits and inspections of the site to identify and mitigate physical and chemical hazards.
- Oversee and approve high-risk permits, including Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Lead the investigation of all near-misses and accidents; conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions.
- Facilitate site-specific safety orientations for subcontractors, focusing on chemical exposure risks and emergency response plans.
- Ensure all site activities align with OSHA 1926 (Construction) and relevant sections of OSHA 1910 (General Industry) pertaining to process safety management.
- Maintain safety logs, SDS (Safety Data Sheets) binders, and equipment inspection records.
- Minimum of 4 years in a dedicated safety role within industrial construction.
- Experience on process plants, chemical facilities, or refinery construction sites a plus.
- CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) or ASP (Associate Safety Professional) preferred.
