A Project Cost Analyst is needed for a world class utility company in the New Albany, OH area. This role focuses on coordinating project cost controls and financial analysis through budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting to support project managers and ensure accurate financial tracking throughout the project lifecycle.

responsibilities:
- Coordinate project meetings and support the preparation and updating of project planning documentation.
- Prepare spending forecasts, cash flow reports, and monitor budget variances.
- Perform estimate vs. actuals analysis and verify information for Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance where required.
- Establish time-phased baseline budgets aligned with system schedules and create project breakdown structures.
- Manage the work order lifecycle from creation through in-servicing and final closing.
- Keep project system records current and track unvouchered liabilities (UVLs).
- Assist in the contracting process, including bidding activities and cost analysis.
- Communicate budgetary items clearly with project teams, resources, and external stakeholders.
- Develop measurable KPIs and apply analytical techniques to solve technical problems.
- Ensure adherence to company project management standards and governance committee guidelines.
- Lead consensus building and contribute to team decision-making regarding field work and technical tasks.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Qualified degrees include Business, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
- Associate degree or Bachelor's degree (No experience required for Associate level entry).
- For the Analyst level: Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience, or an Associate degree with 3 years of experience.
- Utility-specific operations knowledge with an understanding of work processes and procedures.
- Background in operations, planning, project management, or cost tracking analysis.
- Experience with forecasting, project budgeting, and basic accounting principles.
- strong time management, organizational skills, and a high aptitude for accuracy and detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Basic technical proficiency in both written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, results-oriented team environment.
- Support for company policies, values, principles, and behavioral standards.
- Preferred (but not required) exposure to corporate accounting systems, earned value management, and scheduling systems.
- A strong commitment to customer service for both internal and external partners.
