A Project Engineer is needed for an engineering consulting company in the Ellsworth Air Force Base, SD area. This role will independently manage construction contracts, oversee quality assurance and safety compliance, and lead the technical review and modification process to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.

responsibilities:
- Serve as the Project Engineer for assigned contracts, independently managing routine tasks and elevating complex issues.
- Coordinate with customers, cost-sharing partners, and project managers to report progress and resolve potential delays.
- Lead and participate in pre-work, coordination, preparatory phase, and safety meetings.
- Analyze construction plans and specifications to identify deficiencies, differing site conditions, or necessary design changes.
- Provide lessons learned feedback to designers to improve future project criteria.
- Manage the contract modification process, including preparing scopes of work for RFPs and reviewing contractor proposals.
- Assist in the preparation of government estimates and technical evaluations of contractor bids.
- Develop and implement project-specific Quality Assurance (QA) Plans in accordance with regulations.
- Support onsite Quality Assurance Representatives with safety, quality, and coordination oversight.
- Conduct periodic field inspections to ensure contractor compliance with plans and technical specifications.
- Monitor project milestones and schedules, advising the Resident Engineer of any potential slippage.
- Engineering Degree (Any Discipline).
- 5 Years of Experience of Construction Engineering.
