An Electrical Engineer is needed for a leading engineering and design firm. The Electrical Engineer will lead the design and engineering of power plant projects primarily for Simple Cycle and Combined Cycle power plants. In this role, you will oversee complex electrical systems from high-voltage interconnects to plant-wide distribution to ensure reliable power delivery. You will serve as a technical authority on gas turbines, steam turbines, and Heat Recovery Steam Generators.
Qualified candidates must hold an active Professional Engineer (PE) license and possess at least 5 years of experience in heavy industrial power generation. You must demonstrate a proven track record with combined cycle architecture and a deep understanding of IEEE, NEC, and NERC standards. This role can be located in Atlanta, GA or Minneapolis, MN and relocation can be budgeted for qualified candidates.

responsibilities:
- Lead electrical infrastructure design for high-voltage substations, generator breakers, and distribution systems
- Perform critical studies including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and protective relay coordination
- documentation for major equipment like transformers and switchgear while reviewing detailed wiring schematics
- Manage electrical scopes, budgets, and man-hour estimates to ensure profitable EPC contract execution
- Collaborate with mechanical, civil, and I&C teams to integrate turbine-generator packages and Balance of Plant equipment
- Utilize industry-standard software such as ETAP or SKM to oversee the production of Revit and AutoCAD deliverables
