Great client is seeking an dynamic hands on Electrical Engineer II to support research and product devleopment on temporary basis. This is a "boots on the ground" role for an engineer who loves to split their time between advanced 3D digital design and the physical manufacturing floor. You will actively bridge the gap between engineering concepts and physical execution, working directly with cutting-edge marine electronics, electro-mechanical systems, and next-gen telematics.

responsibilities:
- Split your time between the design desk and the production floor to build prototype wiring harnesses, support manufacturing, and solve real-time assembly issues.
- Install, test, and troubleshoot AC/DC electrical circuits, components, and advanced marine electronics directly on the boats
- Model electrical systems, custom panels, and 3D harness routings in a CAD environment (Siemens NX) prior to physical execution.
- Incorporate advanced marine technologies into boat dashes, including digital switching/multiplexing, telematics, and satellite communications.
- Calculate electrical loads and specify components for shore power, generators, battery systems, and galvanic protection.
- Ensure all designs meet marine safety standards (ABYC, ISO, CE) and manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) for final boat release.
- Partner with propulsion teams, styling teams, and outside suppliers to define product features based on customer feedback.
- Must have Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent technical experience.
- Must have 2 to 5 years of electrical design experience, specifically within a hands-on manufacturing or production environment.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling (Siemens NX is preferred, but SolidWorks, Catia, or Pro-E are welcome) with experience in wiring and harness routing.
- Familiarity with recreational voltages and experience with multiplexing, digital switching, and telematics is a major plus.
- Knowledge of ABYC standards is highly preferred; you must be willing to attain ABYC electrical certifications upon hire.
- Willingness to work overtime as required to ensure critical product development projects are completed on time.
