Our client, a leading national engineering and design firm, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer in Germantown, MD. Joining their specialized MEP team, you will lead the design and analysis of complex electrical systems for mission-critical environments, including secure federal facilities, healthcare centers, and cutting-edge research laboratories. Beyond technical execution, you will mentor junior staff, foster relationships, and ensure rigorous quality and code compliance across all projects. This impactful role requires a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, an active PE license, at least 7 years of building design consulting experience, and US Cicizenship is required due to federal contract requirements. responsibilities:
- Drive the analysis, design, and specification of complex electrical systems for healthcare, research, and secure federal facilities
- Perform in-process design reviews and apply strict quality control to ensure compliance
- Conduct site assessments, prepare technical reports, and collaborate directly with clients
- Train, mentor, and motivate staff while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutions
- Resolve field issues, mitigate electrical system risks, and stay current on emerging industry technologies
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and an active Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Minimum of 7 years (12 preferred) of experience in the building design consulting industry
- Advanced knowledge of power systems, circuit theory, and industry codes (NFPA, IES, FGI), alongside proficiency in software like eSPECS and Bluebeam Revu
