Our client, a national full-serivce engineering consulting firm is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer in Raleigh, NC, Greensboro, NC, Charlotte, NC or Norfolk, VA to lead complex building projects across diverse markets, including higher education, healthcare, sports, and civic sectors. The ideal candidate holds a PE license, brings 7+ years of building design consulting experience, and thrives in a collaborative, trust-based culture that values technical excellence and offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule. Position offers assistance with relocation.

responsibilities:
- Lead design efforts for the analysis of structural systems and develop designs, specifications, and calculations
- Perform site assessments and generate detailed analysis and technical reports
- Partner with clients to understand needs, gather requirements, and communicate technical information effectively
- Provide in-process design reviews of structural system design, calculations, specifications, and project correspondence
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent, required
- Professional Engineer (PE) License required
- 7 years of experience minimum required, 12 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
- Mastery of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
- Expert in structural design and mechanics, with comprehensive knowledge of building systems and material standards across steel, concrete, wood, and masonry
- Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays
- Position is not eligible for sponsorship due to federal contract obligations
