Our client, a growing A&E firm in Charlotte is looking for a Civil Engineer to lead land development and site design projects from conception to completion. The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of experience, proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, and a background in federal DoD or large-scale industrial projects. We welcome applicants who hold an active PE license, EITs who have passed the PE exam and are completing their experience hours, or Civil Engineers who are currently eligible to sit for the PE exam. responsibilities:
- Design sites (parking, sidewalks, grading, utilities, erosion control, stormwater management) associated with new and renovated buildings
- Manage design projects from conception to completion based on experience and project types
- Comply with local, state, and federal stormwater regulations (detention/retention)
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress
- Travel: Up to 20%
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related design field preferred
- 7+ years' experience
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license OR Engineer-in-Training (EIT) who has passed the PE exam and is currently completing the experience requirement OR Civil Engineer who meets all prerequisites and is currently eligible to sit for the PE exam
- Experience with stormwater detention/retention and LID practices
- Proficient at design and permitting stormwater management facilities and erosion control
- Experience in large campus industrial work is a plus
- Federal work experience with DoD and industrial projects
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Autodesk Civil 3D
- Working hours are M-Thursday 830am - 4pm, Fridays 830am - 12pm
- Base salary + year-end bonus, with scheduled annual COLA adjustments (February) and mid-year merit raises based on performance
