responsibilities:
- Prepare glass and refractory material samples through cutting, mounting, epoxying, grinding, and polishing.
- Analyze samples and identify crystalline phases using optical methods like stereomicroscopy and polarized light microscopy.
- Conduct advanced imaging and chemical analysis using SEM, EDX, and XRD equipment.
- Manage internal work requests to ensure optimal turnaround time, accuracy, and experimental efficiency.
- Maintain laboratory operations while compiling data and preparing reports for engineering and geology staff.
