A leading manufacturing organization is seeking a Metrology & Quality Engineering Specialist to support dimensional inspection, product validation, and quality assurance activities. This position will work closely with Engineering, Quality, Production, and customers to ensure manufactured components meet dimensional requirements and quality standards.

responsibilities:
- Perform dimensional inspections of new and existing elastomeric components using Micro-Vu and other precision measuring equipment.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and customer specifications.
- Conduct first article inspections and prepare PPAP documentation, including Initial Sample Inspection Reports (ISIRs) and material certifications.
- Develop and maintain quality documentation, including control plans, process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, capability studies, and Gage R&R reports.
- Analyze Statistical Process Control (SPC) data and evaluate process capability (Cp/Cpk) to ensure product quality.
- Verify that new and revised molds and manufactured parts meet customer dimensional and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with customers, engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve measurement and quality issues.
- Maintain revision control for engineering drawings, specifications, and quality records.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and manufacturing processes.
- Monitor environmental compliance activities, including VOC tracking, permit maintenance, and routine environmental audits.
- Generate technical reports and maintain accurate inspection, quality, and compliance records.
- Perform additional technical projects and assignments as directed by the Engineering Manager.
- Associate's degree in a technical field preferred
- 2+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment (experience with elastomeric materials strongly preferred)
- Proficiency operating Micro-Vu measuring equipment and reading/interpreting engineering part drawings (drafting/CAD experience a plus)
- strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and complex documentation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for direct customer and team interaction
