A Manufacturing Project Engineer is needed for a leading manufacturing organization outside of Greensboro, NC. The Manufacturing Project Engineer will lead new model launch activities, define project KPIs, and coordinate cross-functional efforts for battery manufacturing initiatives. In this role, you will collaborate with engineering, construction, and purchasing teams while serving as the primary liaison to key entities. Your focus will be managing project milestones, pre-production trial activities, and driving countermeasure strategies to ensure seamless project execution.
Candidates must possess 5+ years of equivalent project management experience, specifically handling capital investments exceeding $0.5M. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a proven track record of managing and reporting complex KPIs to executive leadership are required. Candidates should also be open to up to 10% travel, periodic evening meetings with international teams, and occasional weekend or shutdown support as project schedules require. This is a long-term contract role slated to last a year with a distinct possibility of extension. Our client is only seeking local talent at this time.

responsibilities:
- Define and report overall project KPIs and milestones using the, establishing standardized reporting structures
- Align new model launch activities across domestic and international divisions throughout every phase of development up to start of production
- Coordinate pre-production trial activities, including trial parts orders, schedule creation, and KPI management based on project phases
- Solve launch execution issues cross-departmentally and develop countermeasures and detailed job instructions to prevent recurrence
- Oversee building preparation milestones, installation kickoffs, and alignment with facility project teams
- Support cross-functional initiatives, including budget management, asset management, and company shutdown activities
