A Mechanical Sheet Metal-HVAC CAD CAM Designer is needed for a leading manufacturing organization near Conyers, GA. This role is responsible for designing, modeling, and documenting mechanical systems while ensuring high standards of quality, cost efficiency, and accuracy. The designer provides critical engineering support across application, fabrication, testing, and manufacturing teams.
Applicants should have 1+ year of experience in sheet metal CAD detailing and design background. Candidates with similar experience will also be considered. Candidates must be proficient in Solid Edge 3D CAD modeling, CAM programming software, and applying engineering math calculations. Proficiency with compliance codes such as NFPA 70, UL 1995, and UL 60335-2-40 desired. This is a direct-hire role, and our client is only seeking local talent currently.

responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed 3D part and assembly drawings for custom manufacturing using Solid Edge
- Create complete engineering documentation, including bills of materials, design spreadsheets, and assembly drawings
- Evaluate design feasibility and recommend modifications to eliminate equipment malfunctions during production or field installation
- Provide ongoing technical engineering support to production, sales, applications, and field service groups
- Work directly with project managers to interpret project direction and approve final products for release
- Process all paperwork for shop fabrication
