We are recruiting an Embedded Hardware Engineer to join a core R&D engineering team in the Syracuse Metro. responsibilities:
- Lead board-level hardware development from initial proof-of-concept through schematic capture, layout, bring-up, and full commercial mass production.
- Perform comprehensive Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) to proactively identify risk points and ensure high product reliability.
- Execute rigorous electrical stress analysis, including component derating, thermal evaluations, and worst-case circuit analysis across operating extremes.
- Select, qualify, and integrate core electrical components, balancing performance, unit cost, supply chain availability, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate closely with firmware, mechanical, and layout teams to resolve hardware-level integration challenges without taking on overall architecture control.
- Design and execute verification and validation (V&V) test plans to ensure compliance with relevant industry safety, EMC/EMI, and environmental standards.
- Drive design-for-manufacturability (DFM) handoffs to contract manufacturers, supporting pilot runs and yield optimization through final commercial release.
