responsibilities:
- Provide senior on-site geotechnical supervision for aggregate pier ground improvement and auger cast-in-place (ACIP) pile foundation installation.
- Oversee specialty foundation subcontractors, verifying pier layout, diameter, length, termination depth, lift thickness, densification energy, and aggregate gradation.
- Lead quality assurance and quality control activities, including installation monitoring, automated equipment records, and verification of load and integrity testing.
- Develop Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), manage hold points, prepare detailed field documentation, and handle nonconformance reporting.
- Serve as the primary on-site link between the jobsite and home-office engineering teams, coordinating with Construction, Field Engineering, CSA design, and project management.
qualifications:
M.S. degree in Geotechnical Engineering (or related field) with 8+ years of relevant experience, or a Ph.D. with 6+ years of experience; EIT required and PE registration preferred.
Demonstrated field experience supervising aggregate pier/stone column and ACIP/CFA pile installation on large-scale industrial, power, or infrastructure projects.
Strong technical expertise in foundation QA/QC, load and integrity testing, and interpreting geotechnical reports, drawings, specifications, and design-build submittals against field conditions.
