Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all safety laws, regulations, and company policies (OSHA, local, state, and federal).
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards, document findings, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Train employees on safety procedures, emergency protocols, hazard communication, and proper use of equipment and PPE.
- Develop and lead safety training sessions and meetings, addressing employee concerns promptly.
- Ensure safety equipment is properly maintained and used, and that employees wear appropriate PPE.
- Promote continuous improvement in safety performance and lead injury reduction initiatives.
- Investigate accidents, identify root causes, analyze trends, and implement preventive measures.
- Conduct Job Hazard Assessments and maintain proper documentation and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory agency requirements.
- Inspect facilities and equipment to monitor hazards, including noise, temperature, and work practices.
- Coordinate emergency response training and drills.
- Manage programs such as hearing protection, SDS, hazardous materials, and wastewater operations.
- Manage workers’ compensation and return-to-work programs; support injured employees and coordinate with insurers and healthcare providers.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, training, incidents, and injuries.
- Stay current on company policies related to food safety, sanitation, GMPs, and HACCP.
