As a Finance Associate with the Settlements team, you'll play a key role in supporting our clients and ensuring smooth operations across various areas of the business. You will be responsible for activities around trades post-booking.  This role is ideal for any candidate who enjoys working in financial operations, client management, and trade settlements.  This team starts training fully onsite at the office in Baltimore, MD.

Responsibilities

• Cash Flow Coordination: Communicate with clients every day to confirm and agree on upcoming cash movements related to trades and other transactions.
  
  
• Problem Solving: Investigate and resolve trade issues or “fails” (when trades don’t settle properly), by working with Trading Desks, Sales teams, and Middle Office support groups.
  
  
• Break Reconciliation: Review and analyze outstanding or unresolved issues (known as “aged breaks”) in trade settlement and work to resolve them.
  
  
• Handling Client Queries: Respond to questions from clients about their account positions, corporate actions (e.g., dividends, stock splits), and reporting.
  
  
• Risk Management Support: Collaborate with operations, sales, and trading teams to identify potential risks and escalate issues when needed to reduce exposure.
  
  
• Accountability: Take ownership of any outstanding issues, making sure they are followed up and resolved.
  
  
• Process Improvement: Help improve how we work by suggesting and implementing better ways to manage processes and create useful reports.
  
  
• Project Involvement: Contribute to global team projects, including testing and rolling out system updates or changes.
