As a Fixed Asset Specialist, you will ensure the financial integrity of company’s portfolio by managing the lifecycle of physical assets. Working under general supervision, you will be the gatekeeper of our capitalization policies, meticulously reviewing construction documents and invoices to ensure assets are recorded accurately and in compliance with corporate guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Asset Lifecycle Management: Record, process, and track fixed assets for existing, new, and remodeled locations.
• Compliance & Policy Application: Interpret and apply internal capitalization guidelines when auditing invoices and construction project documentation.
• Financial Accuracy: Perform monthly reviews of repair and maintenance (R&M) accounts to identify and reclassify items that meet capitalization criteria.
• Journal Entries & Accruals: Assist in the preparation of depreciation accruals and adjusting journal entries for assets not yet capitalized.
• Data Integrity: Maintain digital records through organized scanning and indexing of financial documents.
• Special Projects: Support the accounting team with ad-hoc analysis and departmental initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

• Software Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (V-Lookups and Pivot Tables preferred); familiarity with Word and Outlook.
• Systems Experience: Experience with Oracle and Discoverer (or similar ERP/reporting tools) is highly desirable.
• Analytical Mindset: Proven ability to reconcile accounts and prepare accurate journal entries.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Preferred Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Experience: * Minimum of 3 years in general accounting (Accounts Payable, Requisitions, or Ledger maintenance).
  • OR 1 year of dedicated experience in analytical accounting and reconciliation preparation.
