As a Lab Technician II, you are the engine behind our data integrity. You won't just be running tests; you’ll be performing complex chemical and physical analyses on soil, plant tissue, and water samples that help growers make critical decisions. At this level, we rely on your 2–3 years of expertise to operate sophisticated instrumentation independently and maintain our 24-to-48-hour turnaround guarantee.
Key Responsibilities
- Advanced Instrumentation: Independently operate, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance on ICP-OES, LECO (Nitrogen/Carbon), and Flow Injection Analysis (FIA) systems.
- Analytical Testing: Execute standardized methods for macro and micro-nutrients, pH, EC, and SAR (Sodium Adsorption Ratio).
- Data Validation: Review and verify raw data from instrumentation before final LIMS entry; proactively identify and troubleshoot "out-of-spec" results.
- Quality Control Mastery: Lead QC protocols, including the preparation of standard curves, spike recoveries, and the monitoring of Certified Reference Materials (CRMs).
- Workflow Coordination: Assist in prioritizing sample batches during peak agricultural seasons to ensure we meet our strict production deadlines.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all hazardous waste disposal and chemical handling meet Cal/OSHA and internal safety standards.
