What You’ll Do
- Design & Drafting: Prepare complex concepts and complete drawing packages for both commercial and residential projects.
- Collaboration: Conduct design reviews with project managers, integrating feedback to ensure every detail is production-ready.
- Technical Support: Exercise independent judgment to improve designs and provide technical assistance to the team when issues arise.
- Project Tracking: Monitor project status and adhere to strict schedules to meet critical production and installation dates.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years in mechanical design.
- Software Skills: 2+ years of experience with AutoCAD, CabinetVision, AlphaCam, Inventor, SolidWorks, or Catia.
- Industry Knowledge: While not required, experience in the cabinet industry, CNC programming, or cabinet installation is highly helpful.
- Mindset: A self-starter with strong analytical skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work in both an office and manufacturing environment.
- Education: High school diploma required.

Responsibilities
- Design Generation: Create detailed mechanical and architectural drawings for cabinets, countertops, and wall systems using AutoCAD or CabinetVision.
- Project Collaboration: Work with shop and project management teams to develop drawing packages that fuel accurate production.
- Design Reviews: Lead reviews with project managers and integrate feedback into final designs to meet project intent.
- Technical Oversight: Provide troubleshooting assistance to the team and suggest design improvements based on technical expertise.
- Deadline Management: Monitor project progress and adhere to strict schedules to ensure all production and installation dates are met.
- Production Support: Maintain constant communication with management and spend time in the manufacturing facility to coordinate design-to-build accuracy.
