Responsibilities
- Project Accounting: Lead job cost reviews, monitor project budgets, and perform variance analysis to provide actionable insights for project managers.
- Financial Reporting: Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring GAAP compliance and reporting accuracy.
- Revenue & Cost Management: Oversee intercompany invoicing, inventory valuation, and complex accruals for project-related costs and revenues.
- Treasury & Tax: Manage daily cash flow, bank reconciliations, and the preparation/filing of sales and use tax reports.
- General Ledger: Maintain asset and lease accounting records, payroll liabilities (PTO/benefits), and accounts receivable.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate on software enhancements and leverage AI/automation tools to streamline accounting workflows.
- Industry Experience: Substantial experience in Construction Accounting or Project Controlling is required.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, modeling) and familiarity with Sage 300 or similar ERP systems.
- Accounting Knowledge: strong foundational knowledge of GAAP and experience in medium-to-large scale organizational workflows.
- Communication: Ability to translate complex financial data into clear reports for executives and external stakeholders.
- Efficiency: A results-driven approach with an interest in using technology/AI to improve operational accuracy.
