Responsibilities
As a Medical Claims Processor, you will play a critical role in clinical front-office operations by adjudicating medical claims and ensuring members receive accurate benefits. This is an on-site position in Bakersfield, CA, offering a professional environment with a casual business or medical scrub dress code.
Your Impactful Daily Tasks
- Claim Adjudication: Receive and process medical claims/bills for payment or denial based on benefit criteria
- Analytical Research: Investigate claims for proper documentation and analyze data for adjustments.
- Insurance Liaison: Contact insurance carriers and employers to obtain claim numbers and discuss patient work status.
- Clinical Support: Answer phones, schedule patient appointments, and manage daily work queues.
- System Management: Utilize HealthConnect (Epic) to create workers' compensation accounts and manage workflows.
- Language: Professional fluency in Spanish and English is required.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 3+ years of related medical claims or clinical administrative experience preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Epic (HealthConnect) or similar complex medical software.
- Schedule: Ability to work Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
