Our client is looking for a proactive Assistant Controller to lead the day-to-day operations of their accounting team and keep everything running smoothly. You’ll work closely with the Controller to ensure financial accuracy, manage tax filings, and streamline department priorities. This is a hands-on role where you’ll act as a key mentor to staff while maintaining high standards for GAAP compliance. It’s a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to make a real impact on our client's financial health and long-term process improvements.

salary: $120,000 - $135,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Lead the Team: You’ll supervise payroll and general accounting staff, helping everyone stay on track with month-end deadlines and daily tasks.
  
  
• Keep Finances Accurate: From approving journal entries to managing account reconciliations, you’ll ensure every transaction is tidy, consistent, and follows the rules.
  
  
• Manage the Big Projects: You’ll be the go-to person for annual audits and tax filings (like Forms 990), preparing all the necessary paperwork to keep our client compliant.
  
  
• Drive Improvements: You’ll help maintain the accounting systems and look for clever ways to document and improve processes to make the department more efficient.
