A client of ours located in Louisville, Kentucky is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. This position is responsible for managing the full-cycle accounts payable process, ensuring the timely processing of vendor invoices, and maintaining accurate records of all outgoing disbursements. The ideal candidate will have the ability to handle high-volume data entry, resolve complex billing discrepancies, and ensure all payment deadlines are met with precision and integrity. This role is key in streamlining departmental workflows and contributing to the overall fiscal health of the organization. This position is a full-time permanent opportunity offering a competitive base salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Invoice Processing: Accurately reviewing, coding, and entering a high volume of vendor invoices into the financial system, ensuring correct general ledger (GL) distribution.
  
  
• Three-Way Matching: Verifying that purchase orders, receiving reports, and vendor invoices align perfectly before authorizing payments to prevent overpayment or fraud.
  
  
• Payment Cycles: Executing timely payment runs via ACH, wire transfers, and checks, while managing schedules to take advantage of early-payment discounts.
  
  
• Vendor Management: Serving as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries, reconciling monthly statements, and resolving any billing discrepancies or missing documentation.
  
  
• Expense Report Auditing: Reviewing employee travel and business expense submissions to ensure compliance with company policy and tax regulations.
  
  
• Month-End Support: Assisting the accounting team with month-end closing activities, including preparing accruals and maintaining an accurate aging report of unpaid liabilities.
