We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced Payroll Analyst to join a growing corporate finance team in West Houston. The ideal candidate will manage end-to-end domestic payroll processing, oversee specialized leave-of-absence calculations, reconcile payroll taxes, and support international payroll operations. This role acts as a critical liaison between HR, Finance, and external partners, ensuring complete compliance, accurate financial reporting, and seamless service delivery to our employees in the US and Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Payroll Processing & Administration: Execute end-to-end processing of multi-state bi-weekly payrolls for salaried and hourly employees, ensuring accuracy of gross-to-net calculations, deductions, and local/state/federal regulatory adherence.
- International Payroll Support: Coordinate, review, and validate North American payrolls or direct regional entity payrolls for expatriates and localized international employees.
- Leave of Absence & FMLA Integration: Administer and audit payroll operations for employees on Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD), and other paid or unpaid statutory leaves. Coordinate offsets with corporate benefits administration to ensure precise benefit premium collections and wage replacement calculations.
- Payroll Taxation & Compliance: Understanding of payroll tax compliance initiatives, including tracking multi-state residency changes, validating quarterly 941 filings, verifying annual W-2/W-2c generation, and resolving multi-jurisdictional tax agency inquiries or notices.
- Reporting & General Ledger Reconciliation: Familiar with post-payroll journal entries, general ledger accounts, and financial auditing.
- Process Improvement & Audit: Actively audit internal records to uncover anomalies, streamline system workflows between HRIS and third-party payroll platforms.

Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the payroll department and ensuring all processing deadlines are met.
- Ensure company compliance with federal, state, and local taxes, as well as wage and hour laws (FLSA).
- Continuously audit and improve payroll workflows and system integrations to increase efficiency and data integrity.
- Prepare regular payroll journals, accounts payable integrations, and labor cost reports.
