We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant for a key contract-to-hire role with a growing client in the Tampa area. This position is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. 

As a Staff Accountant, you will support the finance department in maintaining financial records, performing reconciliations, and assisting with the month-end close process. This role offers a path to permanent employment for a candidate who demonstrates technical excellence and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Month-End Close: Assist in the preparation of financial statements and lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
  
  
• General Ledger: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts; prepare and post journal entries with high accuracy.
  
  
• Reconciliations: Perform complex bank and credit card reconciliations, ensuring all discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.
  
  
• ERP Management: Utilize the internal ERP system to manage financial data, run reports, and ensure data integrity across modules.
  
  
• Financial Analysis: Use Excel to perform variance analysis, track KPIs, and assist in budget-to-actual reporting.
  
  
• Audit Support: Provide documentation and schedules for internal and external auditors as required.
  
  
• Compliance: Ensure all financial processes adhere to GAAP and internal company policies.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  
  
• Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of professional accounting experience.
  
  
• Technical Proficiency: ERP Systems: Direct experience working within mid-to-large tier ERP environments (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or Sage).
  
  
  • Advanced Excel: Must be proficient with VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables. 
    
    
• Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
