Overview A manufacturing organization is seeking a Quality Engineer III to lead quality engineering activities, support process improvement, and ensure compliance with established quality systems. This role ensures product quality from incoming materials through final inspection while driving continuous improvement in safety, efficiency, and performance. The position partners closely with engineering and operations to strengthen processes and improve overall product quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, document, and implement process control systems including SPC, inspection methods, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead root cause analysis using structured problem-solving tools to implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage cross-functional projects to ensure timelines, resources, and communication are aligned.
- Conduct internal quality system audits to ensure compliance with applicable standards and requirements.
- Lead CAPA activities, including tracking actions and ensuring timely closure.
- Support APQP activities for product and process validation and verification.
- Develop and maintain quality metrics, reporting tools, and dashboards.
- Partner with engineering to apply DOE, DFM, FMEA, GD&T, process capability analysis, and Six Sigma tools to prevent recurrence of issues.
- Support nonconformance and material review activities, including failure analysis and corrective actions.
- Lead training initiatives such as blueprint reading and quality onboarding in coordination with HR.
- 5–7 years of quality engineering experience in manufacturing preferred.
- knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality systems.
- ISO 9001 required; ISO 13485 preferred.
- Auditing experience strongly preferred.
- analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred; CQE a plus.

Responsibilities

- Perform root cause investigations and apply structured problem-solving techniques to implement effective corrective and preventive solutions.
- Coordinate and lead cross-functional projects while ensuring deadlines, communication, and project objectives are successfully managed.
- Execute internal quality audits to verify compliance with established standards and operational requirements.
- Lead CAPA activities by facilitating discussions, tracking action items, and ensuring timely resolution of quality concerns.
- Support product and process validation activities through participation in APQP and related quality planning initiatives.
- Create and maintain quality performance metrics, reporting systems, and data analysis tools to support operational decision-making.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to identify process improvements and mitigate recurring issues using methodologies such as DOE, DFM, FMEA, GD&T, process capability analysis, and Six Sigma tools.
- Assist with nonconformance reviews and material disposition activities by supporting failure investigations and recommending corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver employee training programs related to blueprint interpretation, quality procedures, and onboarding initiatives in partnership with Human Resources.
