- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a closely related field.
- Experience: 4+ years of progressive HR experience in a related position.
- Industry Versatility: Experience working within a fast-paced, 24/7/365 operational environment
- Technical Proficiency: hands-on experience managing data within HRIS platforms (ADP preferred) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS). Must know, and have experience dealing with, FMLA.
- Core Competencies: Proven capability to handle multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously, pivot on short notice, and navigate high-stress situations with empathy and absolute confidentiality.

Responsibilities
Recruiting & Staffing
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for a diverse workforce, including specialized frontline personnel (EMTs, Paramedics, Dispatchers), fleet/facilities staff, and administrative support roles.
- Oversee candidate screening, interviewing, background checks, pre-employment testing, and the new hire onboarding/orientation process.
- Collaborate with leadership and the recruiting team to pioneer innovative sourcing methods that bypass standard industry hiring limitations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee concerns, workplace grievances, and disciplinary matters.
- Conduct thorough, objective investigations into compliance complaints, ensuring fair and consistent policy application, and escalating to executive leadership when necessary.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and strategic advice to supervisors on corrective actions, performance management, and employee development.
- Serve as the main point of contact for employee leave inquiries, partnering closely with a third-party leave administration vendor to maintain data integrity.
- Collaborate with the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to develop and execute a Return-to-Work (RTW) strategy, coordinating light-duty structures where applicable.
- Sync with the Payroll department to ensure short-term disability (STD) data is updated accurately.
