In this role, you won't just process claims—you will serve as the team’s Subject Matter Expert, mentor junior billing staff, and act as a key contributor to revenue cycle optimization. Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 7+ years of dedicated medical billing experience is strictly required. At least 5 years must be specialized in plastic/reconstructive surgery (specifically breast reconstruction); however, experience with general surgery and trauma billing is also acceptable.
- Certification: Must hold an active, continuous Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential with no lapses.
- Career History: Steady career history with no recent gaps in employment (candidate must be currently active in the field).
- Systems Knowledge: Proficiency in Nextech, Trizeto (claims clearinghouse), Google Platform (Drive, Sheets), and ADP is highly preferred.
- Screening Requirement: Candidates must be willing to complete a background check, drug screening, and submit a video digital cover letter/recorded interview as part of the screening process.

Responsibilities
- Full-Cycle Billing Management: Oversee full-cycle billing, charge entry, coding validation, and claim submissions using Nextech software.
- Team Leadership: Act as a lead and mentor for the existing billing team, assisting them in clearing a current daily backlog to reach a maintenance phase.
- Daily Productivity: Process and release a steady workflow of 20 to 30 claims per day.
- Specialized Claims Handling: Manage complex out-of-network claims, telehealth billing, authorizations, letters of agreement, and payer escalations.
- Compliance & Denials: Maintain strict compliance with federal and state regulations, specifically the No Surprises Act. Analyze claims to identify trends, manage denials, and execute appeals processes.
