About the Role We are seeking a highly organized and reliable Switchboard Operator to join a major medical center in Clackamas, OR. In this fast-paced onsite role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming communications, playing a critical role in daily hospital operations and emergency response protocols. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, the ability to multitask effectively, and a calm demeanor under pressure. Key Responsibilities Call Management: Receive, process, and accurately route high volumes of calls coming through the main medical center switchboard. Emergency Response: Promptly implement and coordinate hospital responses to all medical emergencies, safety drills, and facility codes as directed by protocol. Staff Coordination: Manage and maintain a highly accurate, up-to-date schedule of all on-call medical and support staff. Adaptability: Navigate multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and professionalism in an environment with frequent distractions Qualifications & Requirements Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Experience: Minimum of 1 year of professional experience as an operator, dispatcher, or in a high-volume customer service role. Technical Skills: Proficiency in navigating Windows operating systems, basic computer programs, email systems, and internal database software. Soft Skills: verbal and written English language skills. Excellent interpersonal communication and conflict management abilities. Proven ability to remain composed and focused in a busy healthcare setting.
