Responsibilities
We arelooking for a Visual Instructional Designer to improve the creation of Udacity’s course content. The successful candidate(s) will work on a variety of course projects; will work directly with remote designers; review and critique content from the Content Build Team; and drive the creative visuals of videos.
The right candidate will have excellent creative skills and will be adept at communicating a design vision clearly. They’ll also be highly communicative and have experience working in fully integrated cross-functional teams. Those that thrive at Udacity have experience juggling several projects at once yet know when to ask for clarification!
Key Responsibilities:
- Translating technical content into a visual medium
- Working with on-call team to bring visuals to life within slides and beyond
- Working directly with Subject Matter Experts and Technical Content Developers to find best visual representation of content, regardless of topic
- Clearly communicating design vision to those with and without design backgrounds
- Proactively proposes and implements improvements to department processes
- Ability to use AI tools to generate v1 designs or final designs with an eye for accuracy and cognitive overload
- Ability to design complex charts, graphs, and data-driven visuals
