Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Coordinate surgical operations, appointments, and referrals while supporting clinic workflows. Serve as a primary point of contact for patients and healthcare providers, ensuring precise scheduling and adherence to HIPAA and facility guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule surgeries, operations, and clinic appointments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Answer, triage, and direct incoming calls with proper etiquette and diplomacy.
- Perform insurance verification functions and manage Outlook calendar schedules.
- Process, screen, and track incoming and outgoing patient referrals.
- Provide patients with preoperative information sheets and financial requirements.
- Upload patient imaging and manage patient data according to HIPAA standards.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of healthcare experience with direct surgery scheduling experience.
- Excellent written/verbal communication and cheerful, empathetic customer service skills.
- Proficiency in health system computer tools and Outlook applications.
- Must clear standard onboarding clearances (background check, drug test, physical exam, and full health/vaccination logs).
- Preferred: Experience with Cerner EMR, IQueue Scheduling, and working directly with physicians.
