Key Responsibilities
- Production Scheduling & Execution: Plan, release, and manage production orders based on material availability, labor capacity, machine availability, and customer delivery requirements.
- Master Production Schedule (MPS): Develop and maintain the MPS by balancing sales demand, capacity constraints, engineering releases, and component lead times.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner daily with Operations, Sales, Engineering, Quality, and Purchasing to communicate job status, manage order promise dates, and align on priority changes.
- WIP & Performance Monitoring: Review daily WIP performance with supervisors, resolve schedule disruptions/shortages, monitor WIP aging, and lead work order closeout reviews.
- Outsourcing & Purchasing Alignment: Collaborate with Purchasing to track raw material availability, monitor inventory levels, and manage outside processing/outsourcing for machining and fabrication.
- Continuous Improvement & ERP Integrity: Audit and update ERP parameters, routings, and scheduling data. Analyze labor/material variances to identify root causes and optimize planning workflows.
- Leadership & Reporting: Lead weekly backlog meetings, participate in daily Gemba walks, promote safety leadership, and track core operational KPIs.
