We are seeking a proactive Buyer / Production Planner with a blend of procurement expertise and hands-on manufacturing planning experience to optimize our supply chain and shop floor operations.

Responsibilities
Procurement & Purchasing
- Source, negotiate, and purchase raw materials, hardware, machined parts, electrical components, and custom sub-assemblies.
- Manage supplier relationships, evaluate vendor performance (on-time delivery, quality, lead times), and negotiate pricing and terms.
- Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and track delivery schedules to align with production demand.
- Identify supply chain bottlenecks early and implement mitigation strategies (expediting, alternate sourcing).
- Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and capacity constraints.
- Generate and manage Work Orders (WOs) for the mechanical assembly team.
- Analyze Bills of Materials (BOMs) to perform material requirements planning (MRP) and ensure all assembly components are staged prior to build dates.
- Monitor shop floor progress, track job status, and adjust schedules to accommodate line changes or material delays.
- Monitor inventory levels to minimize holding costs while ensuring continuous production (preventing stock-outs).
- Work closely with Quality Control to manage vendor returns (RTV) and resolve non-conformance material reports (NCMRs).
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kanban, 5S) to optimize supply chain workflows and inventory turns.
