We are looking for a high-energy, resourceful, and strategic Electronics Buyer to join our fast-paced supply chain team. If you thrive on solving complex supply chain puzzles, negotiating strong vendor terms, and ensuring mission-critical components hit the production floor right on time, this is your launchpad.
What You’ll Do As our Buyer, you will be the engine driving our material pipeline. You’ll manage vendor relationships, mitigate lead-time risks, and negotiate the best value for everything from raw PCB substrates to complex microcontrollers.
- Drive the Supply Chain: Source, negotiate, and procure high-mix, fast-turn electronic components, raw PCB materials, and hardware.
- Master Vendor Relationships: Build and maintain strategic partnerships with global electronics distributors, component manufacturers, and local vendors.
- Outsmart Market Bottlenecks: Mitigate component shortages, lead-time delays, and obsolescence through proactive sourcing and creative problem-solving.
- Partner with Engineering & Production: Collaborate directly with our engineering and manufacturing teams to match Purchasing (BOMs) with live production schedules.
- Ensure Defense-Grade Quality: Ensure all supplier procurement complies with company quality standards, flow-down customer requirements, and government procurement guidelines.
- Experience: 3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience, ideally within PCB manufacturing, EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services), or high-tech manufacturing.
- Component Savvy: Familiarity with passive/active electronic components, board fabrication materials, and reading Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Negotiation Powerhouse: Proven ability to negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules that keep projects on budget and ahead of time.
- Systems Expert: Hands-on experience with MRP/ERP software (e.g., SAP, Epicor, Oracle, or Infor) and advanced Excel skills.
- Agile Problem-Solver: You don't wait for solutions—you find alternative sourcing routes when parts go end-of-life or lead times spike.
