Responsibilities
Overview
Provides integrated primary and psychiatric care to individuals experiencing homelessness and those in supportive housing. Travel across NYC med suites (Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Manhattan) required.
Clinical Duties
- Record vital signs, prepare patients, and perform basic screenings and EKGs.
- Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing.
- Assist providers with exams/procedures; manage vaccine logs and equipment/supply inventory.
- Handle patient intake, insurance verification, scheduling, faxing, and filing.
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation (eClinicalWorks).
- Coordinate specialty referrals, follow-up care, and pharmacy/lab requests.
- Process prior authorizations and assist with billing/eligibility.
- High school diploma or GED required; MA certification preferred.
- CPR certification preferred; bilingual skills a plus.
- Prior experience in primary care or serving underserved populations preferred.
- Proficiency in EMRs (eClinicalWorks preferred) and MS Office.
- strong communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs, sit/stand extended periods, and travel between sites.
