Position Summary We are looking for an experienced Fuel Delivery Dispatcher to join our team in Mineola, NY. In this role, you will be responsible for scheduling driver routes, managing driver communication, and ensuring safe, efficient home heating oil and fuel deliveries across Long Island. Prior dispatching experience is strictly required.
Key Responsibilities
- Routing & Scheduling: Plan and optimize daily delivery routes for oil and fuel delivery drivers using dispatch software.
- Driver Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for drivers on the road; coordinate real-time adjustments for traffic, weather, or rush orders.
- Order Processing: Take incoming customer calls, schedule deliveries, verify tank capacities, and log orders into the system.
- Compliance & Records: Ensure driver compliance with DOT regulations, hazardous materials rules, and keep accurate logs of fuel drops and delivery receipts.
- Problem Resolution: Quickly handle delivery issues, missed stops, or driver road emergencies as they arise.
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of dispatching experience required (Fuel, HVAC, or Logistics dispatch experience strongly preferred).
- Location: Must be able to reliably commute to Mineola, NY.
- Skills: knowledge of Nassau County and Long Island local routes/roads.
- Technical: Familiarity with dispatching software, GPS tracking tools, and basic Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills to direct drivers and handle high-volume customer calls effectively.
