Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of Class A driving experience, with specialized experience transporting oversized or heavy loads (up to 16ft high, 200,000 lbs, and 125ft long). You must be able to follow state-specific permits and routes for oversized loads and be well-versed in DOT regulations and safety standards. communication skills, adaptability, and a focus on safety are key in this role.
Position Requirements
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 3 years of Class A driving experience, specifically transporting oversized and heavy loads.
- Ability to read and follow specific permits for oversized loads and understand varying state requirements.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards related to transporting heavy equipment.
- Ability to secure loads using chains, straps, and other securing devices.
- Comfortable operating large vehicles, including parking and maneuvering tractor-trailers.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate electric lifts and other equipment.
- Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
- Must pass a background check and drug test.
- In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations and safety protocols.
- Proficient with GPS and other routing systems.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing conditions on the road.
