We’re looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to join a well-established industrial job shop in Dawsonville, GA. This is not an operator role — we need a true machinist who can read blueprints, program and run both manual and CNC equipment, and take pride in producing high-precision parts.
What You'll Do:
- Interpret and machine parts directly from mechanical drawings
- Set up, program (at the machine and with CAM), and operate CNC and manual lathes and mills
- Use precision measuring tools like micrometers and calipers to inspect and record part dimensions
- Maintain machines and tools, and keep work area clean and safe
- Communicate with team members and leadership to ensure jobs are completed accurately and on time
- 3+ years of machining experience (CNC and manual)
- Ability to program at the machine and/or in CAM software
- mechanical aptitude and blueprint reading skills
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, verniers, etc.)
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training a plus
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work overtime as needed

Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate CNC and manual lathes and mills to produce parts per mechanical drawings
- Interpret and follow technical blueprints and work instructions
- Select appropriate tools and fixtures for each job
- Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, depth gauges)
- Maintain accuracy and quality by adjusting machine settings and offsets as needed
- Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of machines
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve machining challenges
- Ensure safe work practices are followed at all times
- Complete jobs within established time frames while maintaining quality standards
