Operational efficiency is at the heart of this role, as you will also manage supply room inventory, order materials for the team, and coordinate the safe shipment of prototypes to customers using FedEx software. We are looking for a candidate with a High School Diploma or GED who possesses visual 2D and 3D skills, mechanical aptitude, and high proficiency in the MS-Office Suite. While we highly prefer candidates with 0–2 years of experience in paperboard carton structure design and a solid understanding of substrates, we are committed to providing extensive on-the-job training to develop your skills. Please note that this position requires a physical presence in the office, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and the capacity to meet short deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
Plotter Room and Software Use:
Actively monitor, maintain, and control work schedule and back-log (design/plotter request routings, plotter sample
requests, mockup request, etc.).
Cut prototype samples for customers and testing.
Full understanding and utilization of the ArtiosCAD, SAP, WebCenter, and Outlook systems to execute plotter sample
requests.
Use a laminator and creasing table to create Z-Flute samples.
Full understanding of board types, grain directions, and other materials.
Troubleshoot plotters and contact vendors for Preventative Maintenance.
Supplies:
Maintain the supply room – keeping it stocked and organized.
Order supplies for the plotter room and the Innovation and Design team.
Complete Board orders for the plotter room and put away board orders upon receipt.
Teamwork and Coordination of Design Projects:
Coordinate with designers and customers working on projects to complete samples on time and in great quality.
Continuous Improvement Project Management:
Identify and help develop Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Drive the development and modification of Plotter room standards, tools, processes and training materials.
Assist in development & apply plotter room related documentation, process detail, specifications, and intellectual
property protection processes.
Search out cost saving initiatives.
