The CNC Tool and Die Programmer is responsible for creating, testing, and optimizing CNC programs for the manufacturing of precision tools, dies, molds, and fixtures. This role ensures that CNC machines operate efficiently, producing high-quality components that meet design specifications and tight tolerances. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise in CNC programming with understanding of tool and die processes, materials, and machining techniques. This position plays a key role in driving innovation, improving productivity, and ensuring the success of manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities
CNC Programming
 Develop and write CNC programs for machines such as mills, lathes, grinders, and EDM machines using
software like Mastercam, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
 Optimize tool paths, speeds, and feeds to maximize efficiency, reduce cycle time, and minimize tool wear.
 Translate blueprints, CAD models, and design specifications into machine instructions.
Tool and Die Fabrication Support

 Collaborate with tool and die makers to ensure accurate implementation of CNC programs.
 Assist in the setup and operation of CNC machines during the initial run to verify program accuracy.
 Modify programs as needed based on machine performance, quality checks, or production requirements.
Quality Assurance
 Conduct precision measurements and inspections of machined components to ensure they meet
specifications.
 Troubleshoot machining errors, identify root causes, and make necessary adjustments.
 Maintain consistent quality standards in all programming and machining operations.

The essential functions of this role include:
