Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinates planning and scheduling with the sales department. Schedules and assigns production runs.
- Reads and analyzes paperwork and purchase order to verify completeness of paperwork, specifications, drawings, and instruction.
- Participates in tooling design and implementation.
- Follow up frequently with co-workers while the job is in process to ensure that job requirements are understood and scheduled deadlines and deliveries are being met.
- Maintains established product quality standards. Reviews all customer’s order requirements, specifications, spectral curves, and inspection data are completed and in order. Performs root cause analysis as needed on failures.
- Ensures personnel compliance to all organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Participates directly in the interviewing, hiring, and training of employees.
- Trains and develops the production personnel in the use of machine tools, test equipment, material preparation and handling, and safety procedures.
- Performs personnel performance reviews and provides feedback as necessary
- Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Resolves product, process, equipment, and personnel problems on a timely basis.
- Maintains a safe and efficient work environment.
- Controls/reduces costs (utilities, materials, downtime, re-work, labor efficiency).
- Operates equipment and processes when necessary.
