Pay & Schedule
- Rate: $19.00 – $23.00 per hour (Dependent on experience)
- Shift: Monday – Thursday (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
- Half-Day Fridays: 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Enjoy your weekends early!)
- Interview Process: Includes a hands-on T-Joint weld test on-site.
- Perform high-quality MIG welds on carbon steel ranging from 3/16" to 1" thickness.
- Execute multi-pass welding, including root, fill, and cover passes, to ensure structural integrity on heavy plate.
- Set up and calibrate welding machines independently, adjusting voltage, wire feed speed, and gas flow for specific material gauges.
- Prepare joints by grinding surfaces, removing mill scale, and beveling edges as required.
- Clean and finish welds using angle grinders to meet quality standards.
- Follow basic blueprints and shop drawings to ensure accurate part alignment and fitment.
- Conduct self-inspections to identify and correct defects like porosity, undercut, or lack of fusion.
- Safely maneuver heavy materials and maintain a clean, organized workstation.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain personal welding gear.

Core Responsibilities
- MIG Welding (GMAW): Perform high-quality MIG welds on carbon steel ranging from 3/16" to 1" thickness.
- Multi-Pass Welding: Execute root, fill, and cover passes on heavy plate to ensure structural integrity and deep penetration.
- Weld Preparation: Use angle grinders to clean surfaces, remove mill scale, and "V-out" or bevel heavy joints to prepare them for welding.
- Post-Weld Finishing: Grind and smooth welds to meet client specifications and aesthetic standards.
- Independent Setup: Adjust welding machine parameters, including voltage, wire feed speed, and gas flow, based on the specific thickness of the material.
- Equipment Care: Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on welding leads, liners, tips, and nozzles.
- Material Handling: Safely move and position heavy steel plates (up to 1 inch thick) using shop tools, cranes, or hoists as needed.
- Inspection: Self-inspect all welds for common defects such as porosity, undercut, or lack of fusion.
- Print Reading: Follow basic blueprints or shop drawings to ensure parts are joined in the correct orientation and meet dimensional tolerances.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean workspace and strictly adhere to PPE requirements, including the consistent use of a welding shield and steel-toed boots.
- Production Routine: Maintain high productivity during the 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM shift (Mon–Thu) and the 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM shift on Friday.
