Responsibilities
- Independent Operation: Operate CNC Swiss-style lathes independently during the night shift, ensuring safe and continuous production.
- Machine Setup: Perform complete setups, including tooling selection, offsets, program verification, and first-article approval.
- Process Optimization: Make in-process adjustments to tooling, offsets, feeds, and speeds to maintain part quality and dimensional control.
- Quality Ownership: Take full responsibility for product quality on the night shift, including inspection, documentation, and adherence to control plans.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and correct machining issues such as tool wear, machine alarms, and dimensional variations.
- Communication: Coordinate closely with the day shift for smooth handoffs, reporting machine status, job progress, and improvement opportunities.
- Maintenance: Perform routine machine checks and preventive actions; maintain a clean and organized shop area.
- Tooling: Grind, sharpen, and recondition carbide and HSS cutting tools per specification.
