You will translate blueprints into high-quality parts using CAD/CAM software while adhering to Lean manufacturing principles to ensure maximum efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Primary Responsibilities
- Programming: Develop and revise complex programs for math-modeled parts using Mastercam, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD.
- Machine Operation: Program and set up 2-axis CNC lathes, 3 and 4-axis mills (with pallet changers), and multi-axis mill-turn centers.
- Process Optimization: Determine the best tooling, cutting speeds/feeds, and tool paths for specific materials to maximize productivity.
- Technical Analysis: Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to determine part complexity and functional requirements.
- Setup & Fixturing: Physically set up tooling and fixtures; ability to manage and run multiple machines simultaneously.
- Data Management: Maintain all software and document data to ensure traceability and reflect engineering changes in NC directory files.
- Quality & Safety: Ensure continuous production, monitor for compromised quality, and strictly adhere to safety standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and suggest process improvements to reduce waste and cost.
- Experience: 3–5 years of CNC programming, setup, and operation. Minimum 3 years in metal part manufacturing.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in G-code/M-code and Mastercam. Prior experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD is highly desired.
- Soft Skills: strong mechanical aptitude, team-oriented, and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
