Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC and/or manual press brakes to bend, punch, notch, or straighten metal plates, sheets, or structural shapes as specified by blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schewing, and specifications to determine appropriate machine settings, tooling, and sequence of operations.
- Select and install appropriate dies, punches, and other tooling according to material type, thickness, and desired bend angle.
- Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, protractors, and tape measures to ensure parts meet tolerance requirements.
- Adjust machine controls and settings to maintain consistent production quality and efficiency.
- Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or deviations from specifications and make necessary adjustments.
- Perform routine maintenance on press brake machinery, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs, to ensure optimal performance.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality issues to the supervisor.
