Basic Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
- Regulatory: Must be a U.S. Person (Citizen, permanent resident, Asylee, or Refugee) per ITAR requirements.
- Compliance: Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Location: Must reside within 50 miles of Beltsville, MD (No relocation assistance provided).
- 1+ years of direct Heat Treat experience.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing routings.
- Environment: Exposure to heat, oil, and dirt.
- Stamina: Ability to stand and move for 8–12 hours per day in a hot environment.
- Strength: Ability to lift up to 35 lbs on a regular basis.
- Safety: Strict adherence to PPE (safety glasses, earplugs, and steel-toed shoes) for the duration of your shift.
- Communication: Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English, along with basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities
The Role at a Glance
As a Heat Treat Operator, you are responsible for the end-to-end thermal processing cycle. From initial setup and loading to metallurgical testing and rigorous documentation, your work ensures that our high-performance parts are ready for the field.
Primary Responsibilities
- Precision Operation: Set up and operate heat treat furnaces and ultrasonic tanks; load/unload components into racks and furnaces once target temperatures are reached.
- Quality Control: Verify cycles (temperature, time, and cooling rates) against customer routers. Monitor thermocouples to ensure they remain within strict tolerance limits.
- Metallurgical Testing: Examine parts for proper metal shade/color and perform hardness testing using specialized equipment.
- Meticulous Documentation: Maintain detailed controller charts including lot numbers, specifications, and operator stamps for stress relief, annealing, solution treatment, and aging loads.
- Maintenance & Safety: Perform daily and weekly functionality checks on instrumentation and furnace conditions.
