While this position involves high-level setup and programming for lathes and a selection of mills, much of the workflow involves heavy repeat production. This requires someone who can program with precision, setup quickly, and maintain consistency across high-volume runs.
Our client values the "Old School" expertise of a true machinist. You won't be bogged down by corporate software updates; you'll have the autonomy to run your station and the satisfaction of seeing your programs turn into high-performance components immediately.
Are you ready to put your Mazatrol skills to the test? Apply today!
salary: $52,000 - $72,800 per year
shift: First
work hours: 7 AM - 4 PM
education: High School
Responsibilities
- Manual Programming: Create, edit, and optimize programs directly at the machine using Mazatrol conversational programming (no external CAM support).
- Machine Setup: Perform complete setups on CNC lathes and mills, including tool selection, offsets, and work-holding adjustments.
- Repeat Production Management: Oversee long-running repeat jobs, ensuring that once the process is dialed in, parts remain within tight tolerances.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve machining issues, tool wear problems, or program errors on the fly.
- Quality Control: Inspect "first-article" parts using standard metrology tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure 100% blueprint compliance.
- Mazatrol Mastery: Extensive experience with Mazatrol controls is non-negotiable. You must be comfortable programming conversationally without software assistance.
- Lathe & Mill Proficiency: While the focus is heavy on lathes, you must be capable of handling mill setups as well.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, including deep familiarity with GD&T symbols.
- Tooling Knowledge: Expert understanding of speeds, feeds, and insert grades for various materials and alloys.
