Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate part production
Load and unload raw materials, castings, and bar stock into Swiss-style CNC machines
Set up machines, including tooling, fixtures, and work offsets, based on job specifications
Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and optical comparators
to verify dimensional tolerances
Interpret and make minor edits to FANUC G-code programs to correct or improve machining operations
Perform and adjust tool wear offsets to maintain part quality throughout production runs
Recognize and properly use inserts, fixtures, and specialized tooling appropriate for each job
Monitor machine operation, detect malfunctions, and troubleshoot basic machining issues
Complete in-process and final part inspections to ensure compliance with specifications
Document production data and inspection results
Perform routine cleaning and light maintenance on machines to ensure reliability and safety
Adhere to all safety protocols, quality policies, and standard operating procedures
Support continuous improvement efforts by suggesting process or efficiency improvements
Meet production targets in terms of quality, cycle time, and quantity while minimizing scrap and
downtime
Communicate effectively with supervisors, programmers, and quality personnel regarding production
issues or concerns
